Katherine Rose's Closet donates 10% to HEALING 4 HEROES
In honor of my late, beloved dog, Rocky, we will donate 10 % to Healing 4 Heroes. Healing for Heroes is a great organization that uses rescue dogs to train as service companions for military Veterans suffering PTSD. All in all, wonderful way to help save a dog and help a Veteran who has already sacrificed so much.
Healing 4 Heroes is a 501 c 3 licensed not-for-profit organization, funded in part by donations, grants and fund-raising events. Healing 4 Heroes trains qualifying rescued shelter dogs to become certified service companions to military Veterans cope with PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury and other “unseen wounds of war.”
I had grandmothers from two completely different generations and cultural backgrounds. My father's mother, Rose, was pure Midwest, raised in the prairies of the Dakotas and Minnesota. Born of people who were long established in America. Married in 1908. My mother's mother, Catherine (Katie) was born of first generation German immigrants. She spoke German and English with a strong German accent. Her people hung onto German traditions. Both influenced me in many ways. We always had something from each of them in our closet. Handmade quilts, vintage china, linen and glassware from Grandma Rose. Tatted or crocheted pillowcases, vintage serving ware, traditional German cookie cutters from Grandma Katie.
My sister Julie and I will add interesting things to my closet. We hope you will open our door often, You never know what you will find in there. Kathy
